Our Hidden Garden

Having arrived at the Fauconberg in December 2006 to a garden that had obviously been neglected for many years, we (Thanks to the able assistance of Colin and Howard) set to cutting back the hedges, chopping through the brambles and nettles, and giving the dogwood a serious haircut...we now have the grass coming through! Seats have been made around the trees and various corners, and, as the project is ongoing, we shall proceed to keep extending the path (Fauconberg's answer to the M25).

A wonderful terrace is just about complete (this time Thanks to Walter and his masonry skills) where the view across the fields to Byland Abbey lends itself to a pot of tea, a quiet bottle of wine or, as planned, Barbeques and evenings of entertainment. Please do go round, through the car park, and have a look.
