The Flanagan Collective collaboration with The Fauconberg Arms

We’re really excited to announce some of the acts who will be appearing at The Little Festival of Everything at The Fauconberg Arms in Coxwold on 25-27 November 2011:

THE ARTISTS

The Flanagan Collective – We are the company hosting the event. We make storytelling, family shows, musicals and everything in between. We like to make things happen.

Rhiannon Jackson – Currently Director in Residence atBoothamSchool, Rhiannon isYork born & bred. She was Co-Artistic Director of TakeOver Festival at York Theatre Royal in 2010.

Forward Theatre Project – Forward Theatre Project is an associate company of Paines Plough, an international company that focuses on new writing. FTP consists of 25 theatre-artists including directors, writers and designers all in the relatively early stages of our careers. Charlotte Bennett, who heads FTP up, has worked at York Theatre Royal and also with Sprite Theatre in Ripley.

Chris Thorpe – Chris is aManchester based writer, performer and theatre-maker. He works with companies like Unlimited and Third Angel. He is a selector for the National Student Drama Festival and currently has various plays and performances touring the country.

Alexander Kelly – Alexander runs Third Angel. Third Angel makes entertaining and original contemporary performance that speaks directly, honestly and engagingly to its audience. Established inSheffield in 1995, the company makes work that encompasses performance, theatre, live art, installation, film, video art, documentary, photography and design.

Henry Raby – Henry is a young poet based in the North. With a twinge of politics and a spice of punk, Henry’s poetry mixes between ska, acoustic and spoken word vibes.

Tom Bellerby – Currently Associate Director for Pilot Theatre, Tom trained at Central School Of Speech and Drama before returning toYork to work as Co-Artistic Director at York Theatre Royal’s TakeOver Festival 2010.

The River People – Based at The Point all the way down South inEastleigh, The River People are a multi-award-winning puppetry and folk company. They are bringing us stories, music and more.

Whitebone Productions – Run by Ed and Joe, Whitebone is a theatre and comedy production company based. They are best known for Joe’s ‘Bane’ trilogy and for Ed’s work with Clever Peter. But they are bringing us something new and, I hear, funny.

Michael Lambourne – One of York Theatre Royal’s best loved actors, you are most likely to remember Michael from The Wind In The Willows in 2010 or his eponymous role as a dog in My Family And Other Animals, 2011.

Belt Up Theatre – Currently resident company at York Theatre Royal, Belt Up is a mulit-award winning British Theatre Company that makes immersive and interactive new work. With a big cult following and accolades as long as their arms, they will be making something unique and very special for the festival.

Six Lips Theatre – Anna, Hannah and Roxanne graduated from York St John and have worked as a boundary pushing theatre company ever since. They were resident at Bar Lane Studios on Micklegate and are currently making 6 shows in 6 months.

Hunting Bears – A band based inLeeds, Hunting Bears are a beautiful and haunting medly of guitars, harmonies, harps, violins and cellos. In short, they are beautiful.

Gabriel Bissett Smith – Gabriel Bisset-Smith is an award winning writer/actor/director fromLondon. He’s had plays produced at the Hampstead Theatre, York Theatre Royal and forBBC Radio Four. He is bringing us some films!

Phil Grainger – A home-grown man of many talents. Living in Easingwold, Phil is an actor, a writer, a musician and a magician.

J Harbourne – Originally from Easingwold, Jim now lives and works inEdinburgh. He is a composer, musician and sound designer, splitting his time between the music and theatre industries. He has just released ‘Hills Of Home’, a charity single to raise money for Help For Heroes.

Sophie MacDonnell – York-based Singer/Songwriter, Sophie has just started atLeedsUniversity studying songwriting. Her band, Hot Fudge, have had huge success inYork and the surrounding area. Sophie is bringing us some more acoustic sounds for the Festival.

Tucked In – A beautiful folk theatre company making work for children and families. They use puppetry and storytelling and visual wonder in their work. They are bringing us some stories they want to try out, so we’ll be the first to hear them.

Damsel Sophie – An international award winning cabaret artist, Damsel Sophie splits her time betweenAustralia and theUK. She is developing her new show that will playAdelaide andMelbourne in the new year before returning to tour theUK.

Helen Cadbury – A lady with many strings to her bow. Helen is a poet, an actor, a playwright and some other things too. At the Festival she will be performing a first work of a new play, running a poetry workshop and doing some readings.

THE SCHEDULE

Friday

Evening: A good old knees up and start to the Festival. Lots of music, stories, singing and dancing. A whole range of stuff packed in to one very fun night.

Saturday

Morning: Filled with lots of storytelling for families. Children might watch a big event or have a chance encounter. Filled with fun, frivolity and a few secrets.

Afternoon: The big event here is a storyhunt, where all the artists will come together to create a dramatic treasurehunt that you have to solve. There will also be poetry workshops and readings.

Evening: We’re back to music and cabaret. The later it gets, the rowdier we go. Another packed night of gypsy folk, stories, instruments and dancing.

Sunday

Morning: We have a market! Here you can buy, sell and trade anything. You’ll find stalls for food, drinks and other things. But you can also trade stories, secrets, poems and songs. A unique market.

Afternoon: It’s Sunday afternoon, so what else could possibly happen other than Sunday Lunch? Obviously this isn’t an ordinary Sunday lunch, it’s with out own brand of stories and adventures for all ages.

Evening: And of Sunday evening we all what to chill out a bit, right? So expect some local talent and some acoustic music, whilst we all relax with a glass of wine or a beer.
