The Little Festival Of Everything packs in almost 100 events over three days at the beautiful Fauconberg Arms pub in Coxwold. We have found the best people from near and far to come and set up shop in the pub. We have storytellers, theatre makers, poets, musicians, writers, cabaret artists, performers and some who fit in between them all.
A big thanks to our sponsors – please click on the logos to visit their websites, or scroll down for lots more information including the full programme about the Little Fest:
There is loads for families, more for children. There are things for the adventurous, for the daring, for the quiet and for the inquisitive. There are things that will surprise you, move you, challenge you and excite you but everything will welcome you with open arms.
The whole thing is being streamed live across the weekend by Pilot Theatre, so the world can watch too. This is more than just a rural festival, this is one of the best arts parties of the year with some of the best artists in the country coming to make work, try ideas and play.
The Fauconberg Arms is creating a special menu of food and drinks to offer over the weekend, so that you and can eat and enjoy the festival however you please. There’re no meal times, no off limits areas for drinks. We want you to be comfortable.
We want you to come and share all this with us. And we have made it as easy as possible. Every single event is 100% free. There are no hidden costs on the door. Nothing. It’s just free. Simple as that. Because we want you to come back again and again over the weekend. We want you to spend time with us and tell us what you think. Loads of the artists are testing out work, and we want everyone to have conversations, for everyone to engage together. The festival is about everyone, and we want everyone to sit and chat and eat and drink and share together.
So here’s how it works. Some events are ticketed, they are still free, but you have to put your name down. So if there is something you like the sound of then give us a ring and reserve your place. Other events are unreserved, so you can just turn up and join in. Once you are here you can buy whatever food and drink you like, anytime. There are no table reservations or meal times, just food when and where you want it.
What we’re going to do is put buckets out, operate a kind of ‘pay what you think’ system for all the events. So if you spend the morning with us and have had a good time, you might pop some change is a bucket. If you see a show and don’t like it, then you don’t need to give anything. There’s zero pressure, we just know that sometimes people like to show their appreciation.
So that’s that. Please do get in touch if you want to know more, if you fancy getting involved or if you want to sponsor us.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to the very first Little Festival Of Everything.
FRIDAY – A LITTLE OVERVIEW
A very big party to kick the whole Little Festival off. There will be strolling storytellers, a magician, some funny things and some surprising things. There will be plenty of secrets and lots of exploring. We will be overflowing with music and filled up with dancing. A wonderful evening of fun and frolics for everyone & anyone.
SATURDAY – A LITTLE OVERVIEW
With the morning filled with family theatre and storytelling from around the country, The Fauconberg Arms is a great place to start the weekend for families, culminating in a big Story Hunt.
The Afternoon is about playing and joining with a Ceilidh, Street Dance Workshop and Poetry Workshop & reading. There is more story telling and some more intimate pieces of theatre too. We also start our more surprising experiences here…you’ll need to explore.
And as we move in to the evening the intimate theatre continues as does the secret theatre. We get loads of local music and York Theatre Royal offer up a Shandy Bingo (you’ll have to come to see what that is). There’s some award winning cabaret as we get later, louder and rowdier before we have a damn good Knees Up with The Jim Jams to finish the night off.
SUNDAY – A LITTLE OVERVIEW
Sunday Morning is our Little Market Of Everything where the rules of trading are rewritten and anything can be traded for anything. Come armed with objects, stories, secrets and perhaps some money (just in case) and see what you can get for them all. And we still have all the family theatre and storytelling going strong for a busy winter morning.
On Sunday Afternoon it’s about being together. There’s a sing around of folk music, there’s ‘Sunday Lunch’ with rolling and strolling entertainment for the whole family. There’s even a stage combat workshop to join in with. There’s lots to share and take part in from hearing plays read for the first time, to making plays together or creating stories.
Sunday Night we have more music from pop to folk and probably some things in between. We continue the intimate encounters and we have some more surprises up our sleeve too. All through Sunday, Belt Up Theatre are installing themselves in a very small space for Dinner With Dr Higgs.
And how else could we finish off a festival other than having a jolly good sing song. Perfect.

This sounds amazing – I will spread the word and hopefully get there on the sat late afternoon and Sunday with my family and friends
Its will be an excellent Little Festival! I am sorry I missed earlier publicity, need to look around more often. Great success for next weekend.
This sounds an amazing event in beautiful north yorkshire.
I only just found out about this (23rd Nov) by clicking on a link via the York Theatre Royal. I only live in the Wolds (Weaverthorpe) but had not seen this advertised before and now I can’t go to anything!!
Hi Penny
Sorry you were unable to come this time, however it was received so well we are planning to do another in the summer, June, will let you know once the dates are confirmed.
Kind regards
